Draft AISC Seismic Provisions Available for Public Comment

CHICAGO – A draft of the next edition of the AISC Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings (AISC 341) is now available for public review and comment.
The next edition of AISC 341 will supersede the 2022 version and is anticipated to be published as a 2027 edition.
The new draft includes updates to the seismic width-to-thickness limits for braces and columns, revised design requirements for special truss moment frames, and changes to the detailing requirements for base connections of composite plate shear wall systems.
The draft will be available as a free download at aisc.org/publicreview between March 17 and April 16, 2025. If you’d prefer to review a hard copy, please contact Martin Downs at downs@aisc.org; there is a $35 nominal charge for printed copies.
