Meridiam Launches mStreet Fiber Brand

  • Establishes national brand for Meridiam’s US fiber platform
  • Existing Memphis, Central Indiana, and Central Alabama assets rebranded to mStreet Fiber

WASHINGTON, DC – Meridiam, a leading sustainable infrastructure investment firm, today launched mStreet Fiber—a new brand for the firm’s US-based fiber platform and assets.

The new brand supports the expected evolution of Meridiam’s fiber infrastructure projects from their construction to service phases. Blue Suede Networks, Hoosier Fiber Networks, and Yellowhammer Networks will be rebranded as mStreet Fiber Memphis, mStreet Fiber Indiana, and mStreet Fiber Alabama, reflecting the companies’ local orientation and ongoing commitment to the communities they serve.

“We built mStreet Fiber to maximize fiber broadband access and economic opportunity across entire municipalities,” said Omri Gainsburg, Partner and Chief Operating Officer, Americas, Meridiam. “The new brand aims to communicate mStreet Fiber’s value for all our municipal, community, and commercial partners.”

mStreet Fiber integrates telecoms and P3 expertise in an exceptional approach to building utility-like ubiquitous fiber networks that provide multi-generational residential, enterprise, and Smart City applications. When its three current projects are completed, mStreet Fiber is expected to provide fiber broadband access to approximately 450,000 premises in Memphis, Central Indiana, and Central Alabama.

“There is a direct correlation between broadband penetration and economic opportunity. When an entire municipality has access to future-enabling fiber infrastructure, the entire community benefits,” said Scott Layman, CEO mStreet Fiber.

Meridiam’s fiber investments underscore its belief that in an increasingly digital society, access to reliable, high-speed fiber broadband has become an essential service. Each mStreet Fiber project is committed to provide broad coverage for residential and business premises in their markets:

  • mStreet Fiber Memphis will deliver, finance, and operate a dark fiber network for Memphis in addition to a build-to-own fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) network throughout the city, which is intended to serve 315,000 premises.
  • mStreet Fiber Indiana a build-to-own FTTP network serving Bloomington, Columbus, Shelbyville, and rural Bartholomew County with plans to pass an aggregate 84,000 premises.
  • mStreet Fiber Alabama consists of a high-speed FTTP network in Central Alabama aiming to pass approximately 52,000 premises. The project will improve broadband connectivity needs in highly underserved and unserved areas in Selma and the surrounding region, including in rural communities.
